Authentication not working with LDAP

posted Oct 15, 2012 09:55:18 by ankitkrsingh2012
Hi,

I am authenticating active directory users to access web logic application. I am able to get the users when clicks on Users and Groups tab. But I am not able to authenticate myself(principal) with the LDAP when used in test web application. I created a simple servlet and tried using LDAP for authentication. Apart form the above setting in providers, I made changes in web.xml. below are they:

<security-constraint>
<web-resource-collection>
<web-resource-name>Logging Area</web-resource-name>
<description>
Authentication for registered users.
</description>
<url-pattern>/*</url-pattern>
<http-method>GET</http-method>
<http-method>POST</http-method>
</web-resource-collection>
<auth-constraint>
<role-name>*</role-name>
</auth-constraint>
</security-constraint>
<security-role>
<role-name>*</role-name>
</security-role>
<login-config>
<auth-method>BASIC</auth-method>
<realm-name>myrealm</realm-name>
</login-config>

After redeploying the application, windows pop up comes up asking the credentials. I am giving the same credential that I gave in weblogic console to connect to LDAP. But I am not able to pass the authentication. Kindly help me out.
